We are a mostly social band, serving Glen Innes and other communities in the New England and North West region of New South Wales. The band was first formed in 1909 and with the exception of two World Wars and a couple of other recesses when numbers were very low, has been in existence ever since. We are proud to be a part of "Celtic Country". Tartan : we proudly wear Cameron of Erracht tartan (have done since about 1952) Tuition: free, provided by band members Drumming 6.30 p.m. Thursdays, at the Glen Innes High School Hall , (enter via Oxford street), or by appointment with tutors - on some weeks practice is held at the Potter Building at Land of the Beardies History House (enter via Ferguson Street - back of the hospital) Learner Chanters 6.30 p.m. Thursdays at the Glen Innes High School Hall , (enter via Oxford street), or by appointment with tutors - - on some weeks practice is held at the Potter Building at Land of the Beardies History House (enter via Ferguson Street - back of the hospital) Band Practice: Thursdays , 6.30 p.m onwards at Glen Innes High School Hall for sectional practice and full band rehearsals . ยทWe believe you're never too old to learn to pipe (you just need 10 fingers and determination) or drum (a sense of rhythm helps!). Our aim is to serve our community by enjoying ourselves doing something we love. Anyone else who shares our ideas is most welcome to apply to join us, as a beginner-learner, or as a playing member.
